Attorneys are supposed to be detached and objective, and usually we are. Sometimes though, it all becomes too much to maintain that kind of distance. Today, a client told me over the phone that he found me to be a "ruthless, nut cutting, junk yard dog son of a bitch", to use his exact words. I have to admit that I got a lump in my throat, and tears in my eyes listening to this. I am very humbled by this level of trust, and will do my best to justify my client's confidence.
